    Social Assistance

All migrant persons have the right to access social assistance when they need it, without requiring prior contribution. Social assistance aims to guarantee social protection to individuals and families facing situations of vulnerability and risk. It is important that public policies aimed at social assistance consider the reality of migrant people and ensure their access to the services and benefits offered. Elderly People

In the SUAS, the elderly can be assisted in all Basic Social Protection services to Special High Complexity, such as the Service of Coexistence and Strengthening of Bonds that fosters belonging and social support network or even accommodation units, in cases of family bond breakage.

    People with Disabilities

The Special Social Protection Service for People with Disabilities and their Families is important to support people with disabilities and their caregivers, as well as to offer activities that promote social inclusion and improve the quality of life of these people. Young and adult migrants with disabilities in a situation of dependency can be referred to the Institutional Accommodation Service in Inclusive Residence.

    LBTIQ+

LGBTQ+ people can suffer persecution due to their sexual orientation or gender identity and, as a result, often relocate and seek refuge in other countries. CREAS plays an important role in defending the rights of these people by providing support in overcoming social vulnerabilities and referring them to Basic Social Protection actions, such as professional training, work preparation, and access to services and benefits.

    Unaccompanied Children and Adolescents

Unaccompanied or separated children and adolescents may require the application of protective measures for shelter, which must be communicated to the judge of childhood and youth within 24 hours. All social assistance services can support them during the process of documentation and social reintegration, with the participation and monitoring of rights protection agencies.
